The countdown for the two main events for organic and sustainable products in Latin America, which will take place from October 16 to 18, 2007, at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil, has already started.

SOME REASONS TO BE AT THE TRANSAMERICA EXPO CENTER FROM OCTOBER 16 TO 18, 2007

With more than 80% of the booths sold, the 2007 edition of the BioFach América Latina and ExpoSustentat Fairs offers more space and brings new countries to these events. The Andes-Amazon Hall at ExpoSustentat 2007 will house exhibitors from Brazil and also from Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela, all promoting the biodiversity of their products. The Northeast & Cerrado Hall is also larger than in 2006, and a Preparatory Seminar will be held in Fortaleza from August 28 to 30. The WWF, FairTrade and Suframa Halls promise to bring the results achieved in their initiatives. There will be Business Rounds within both events.

BioFach is the largest exhibition for organic products in the world, and takes place in Germany every year. The fact that Brazil hosts the only BioFach event in Latin America, which is held simultaneously with ExpoSustentat, gives these two trade fairs privileged international visibility.

Nuremberg Global Fairs is co-organizer of the BioFach América Latina and ExpoSustentat in partnership with Planeta Orgânico, realizing and promoting the BioFach events at Germany, USA, Japan and China.

Journalists from Brazil, Germany and USA have already confirmed their presence at this marketplace for organic products and sustainability. In 2006, BioFach América Latina and ExpoSustentat made news in the main newspapers and news broadcasts in Brazil.

The organizers databases of such international events enables a differentiated and qualified marketing effort for the BioFach América Latina and ExpoSustentat 2007. The Business Rounds held during these exhibitions display quality and objectiveness in their actions.

In 2007, ExpoSustentat will highlight regional markets and will stage the launching of the Andes-Amazon Hall. Supported by Nuremberg Global Fairs, DEG and international institutions such as Unctad, GTZ and OTCA, the Biotrade initiative will be promoted in the Andes-Amazon Hall.

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will bring to ExpoSustentat their experience in the sale of products connected with sustainable extractive activities. A huge success is expected from Sala Andes-Amazonia.at ExpoSustentat 2007!

Within the ExpoSustentat 2007 programme, the Biotrade Forum will take place, with the presentation of cases of the countries present in the Andes-Amazon Hall.

IFOAM, Fair Trade, FSC, MSC and WWF are brands recognized for their commitment to organic farming, fair trade, forest certification, sustainable fishing and preservation of the environment. These are some of the many institutions that have confirmed their presence at BioFach América Latina and ExpoSustentat 2007, where they will promote their products and services, as well as making contacts and doing business. Bring your brand to these events too!

In the ExpoSustentat 2007 edition, the Northeast & Cerrado Hall  will have an area of 180 sq.m., and will hold a Preparatory Seminar from August 28 to 30 in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil. The Family Farming movement in the Northeast and Cerrado regions finds great potential for the sale of its products – which are specific to those two regions – in the organic and fair trade markets. There is strong demand for tropical fruit, medicinal plants and commodities such as cashew nuts and coffee.

Within the program for Amazon Day, Suframa will highlight initiatives supporting the preservation of the environment and sustainability of the Amazon region – among which, the encouragement of research and investments in the therapeutic properties of the region’s flora.  Traditional knowledge of the use of the flora can reduce the costs of research for the identification and synthetization of the basic elements of drugs by over 50%. That means savings in costs and time spent in searching for active principles for the production of new pharmaceutical drugs.
